So He ordered His ‘Ganas’ (servants) to go and bring the head of the sleeping baby whose mother is also sleeping with her back facing the child.

Tha Ganas searched for such a child but could find any. Soon they saw a baby elephant sleeping with his mother also sleeping beside him with her back turned on. Seeing no other way out the Ganas took the head of the baby elephant and took it to Lord Shiva.

With very little time left to infuse life back into Goddess Parvati’s son, Lord Shiva went ahead and fixed the baby elephant’s head on the body of the boy.
